SECUQAM

Cybersecurity research group

About the team

SECUQAM is a research group hosted at the Computer Science Department of UQAM. The main objectives of the group are (1) to conduct both fundamental and applied research on security and privacy, in particular through collaborative projects with industrial, academic and governmental partners, and (2) to contribute to the training of undergraduate and graduate students in cybersecurity. We also participate to the cybersecurity discussion through interventions in the media or with the public.

Our vision

Cybersecurity is a key aspect and a necessary ingredient of an healthy Information Society. In particular, attacks on security and privacy can impact all spheres of our society ranging from individuals to companies, governemental institutions, organizations of the civil society as well as criticial infrastructures. Our research tackles key technical aspects of information security and privacy, with the objective of designing efficient, secure and private solutions while also addressing broader human and societal aspects of privacy, security and trust. We also offer seven courses in various aspects of cybersecurity both at the undergraduate and graduate level and help to set up teams that participate to security competitions such as CTF (Capture The Flag).
